Joe, You can configure the kafka-trunk job at https://builds.apache.org/job/Kafka-trunk/. You may need to ask infra to grant you the permission. One thing that I am not sure is whether those ubuntu (where kafka-trunk job runs) jenkins machines have gradle installed. You can probably follow up on that infra ticket.
