Just a quick note, we have made the following changes in kafka-site
* Default branch is now "markdown" (PRs should target this branch)
* asf-site has been updated with the Hugo-built site
* Any new commits to "markdown" branch are automatically deployed to
asf-staging (https://kafka.staged.apache.org/ <https://
kafka.staged.apache.org/>)
* "Build and Deploy" workflow can be manually run to update the live
website (see screenshot)

We have not yet merged the markdown changes to the Kafka release
branches, though expect that to happen soon.
So, in other words, we are live!

Thank you all for the support. The proposal to cutover has been accepted
with 7 binding (Matthias J. Sax, Lucas Brutschy, David Jacot, Mickael
Maison, Chia-Ping Tsai, David Arthur, Apoorv Mittal) and 1 non-binding
(Muralidhar Basani) votes.
I will work on the next steps and complete this effort at the earliest.
Regards,
Harish
