[~gwenshap] The tools that ship with Kafka are also used by many users on
production clusters. More often than not, each deployment customizes the Kafka
port. It is true that the out-of-the-box experience is improved though. I'm
fine with defaulting as well, as long as the error message of guessing the
wrong port is clear and the tool exits if that happens.
