HI TengYao and Luke, I would like to cherry-pick the commit for this issue (https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/KAFKA-18345) to the 3.9 branch. I see that we are still in the process of releasing 3.9.1. My cherry pick doesn't need to be in 3.9.1 and it can wait until 3.9.2. Can I cherry pick the commit now or should I wait until the release is official?
