Tom Thornton created KAFKA-18072:
------------------------------------

Summary: Data corruption in netty version to 4.1.112.Final
                 Key: KAFKA-18072
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/KAFKA-18072
             Project: Kafka
          Issue Type: Bug
          Components: connect
            Reporter: Tom Thornton

By upgrading to 4.1.111.Final in KAFKA-17046 this introduced data corruption
for grpc-java package (see the discussion in
[netty|https://github.com/netty/netty/issues/14126] and
[grpc-java|https://github.com/grpc/grpc-java/issues/11284] issues. This can
affect kafka connect connectors that rely on netty dependencies that are
supplied at runtime by the Kafka image. Two such examples are
debezium-vitess-connector and debezium-spanner, but there may be others. We
should upgrade to 4.1.112.Final where there are no data corruption issues.
