Thanks for voting on the KIP. I agree we should raise the KIPs early so that we can have a longer duration for other people to take a look.
It seems whoever was involved in the earlier discussions for this change commented and voted. It is a minor KIP to rename existing metrics, and it has been there for ~ a week.
