Yordan Pavlov created KAFKA-14141: ------------------------------------- Summary: Unable to abort a stale transaction Key: KAFKA-14141 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/KAFKA-14141 Project: Kafka Issue Type: Bug Reporter: Yordan Pavlov
I am using the Kafka cli tools for trying to abort an old transction. The transaction looks like so: {code:java} /opt/kafka_2.13-3.2.0/bin/kafka-transactions.sh --bootstrap-server kafka-hz.stage.san:30911 list | grep eth_network_growth | grep -v Empty eth_network_growth-0-1 2 1212324 Ongoing {code} The corresponding producer looks like so: {code:java} /opt/kafka_2.13-3.2.0/bin/kafka-transactions.sh --bootstrap-server kafka-hz.stage.san:30913 describe-producer --partition 0 --topic eth_network_growth ProducerId ProducerEpoch LatestCoordinatorEpoch LastSequence LastTimestamp CurrentTransactionStartOffset 1212324 220 301 93 1659622703834 11366 {code} What I am attempting is: {code:java} /opt/kafka_2.13-3.2.0/bin/kafka-transactions.sh --bootstrap-server kafka-hz.stage.san:30913 abort --topic eth_network_growth --partition 0 --producer-id 1212324 --producer-epoch 220 --coordinator-epoch 301{code} This command exits quietly but doesn't seem to have an effect as both the transaction and the corresponding producer are again reported. Any hints on what I should check? The Kafka brokers are running Confluent images based on Kafka 3.1.X (finding the exact version turned out tricky). -- This message was sent by Atlassian Jira (v8.20.10#820010)
