Dear Kafka developer community As you may know the European Commission is an active user and supporter of open source and its associated ecosystem. An example of this support is the successful EU-FOSSA programme, which is helping to improve the security of key open source software.
Due to Apache Kafka’s growing role in the Commission’s core business, we included it in our most critical open source software list, which meant that it could benefit from this programme. The first action by EU-FOSSA 2 was to organise a bug bounty using Hackerone, to harden Kafka security. However, this is not all, we now want to offer you the opportunity to use the first week-end of October (5th/6th) to come to Brussels to meet developers using Kafka to implement some of the most critical systems at the European Commission and other European institutions. This event is the EU-FOSSA 2 project’s 3rd and final Hackathon. For those from out of Brussels, we will provide travel and hotel accommodation. The event is fully catered and will be held at Silversquare Triomphe an exceptional collaborative working place. If you are interested, please register your interest to attend at https://eufossahackathon.bemyapp.com/ and the FOSSA team will contact you soon.
