Lefty Leverenz commented on HIVE-6037: -------------------------------------- bq. I think the next step is generating hive-default.xml from the template. Then the HiveConf class uses hive-default.xml to load defaults and descriptions. But hive-default.xml hasn't existed since 0.8.0. (I verified this by searching all the branches.) Since 0.8-r2 there's only been hive-default.xml.template and it's just for documentation -- it doesn't get used by Hive, but you can cut-&-paste from it into hive-site.xml. Does anyone remember why hive-default.xml was eliminated? I can't find the JIRA that did it. Is there any way to search all Hive patches? > Synchronize HiveConf with hive-default.xml.template and support show conf > ------------------------------------------------------------------------- > > Key: HIVE-6037 > URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HIVE-6037 > Project: Hive > Issue Type: Improvement > Components: Configuration > Reporter: Navis > Assignee: Navis > Priority: Minor > Attachments: HIVE-6037.1.patch.txt, HIVE-6037.2.patch.txt > > > see HIVE-5879 -- This message was sent by Atlassian JIRA (v6.1.5#6160)
