Szehon Ho commented on HIVE-5723: --------------------------------- @Navis Hi, I am wondering if what you asked for is already addressed by HIVE-5611? If you try building the assembly using -Pdist profile, then there will already be a directory under packaging/target with hive shell scripts (hive, beeline, hiveserver, etc) ready to run with correctly populated classpaths, pulled in via <dependency> of assembly descriptors. This is there in both tarred and directory form. That said, there might be some other value of having an explicit dependency plugin other, but just wanted to check that that weren't wasted efforts (and also an additional build step) to achieve the same goal. Thanks! > Add dependency plugin > --------------------- > > Key: HIVE-5723 > URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HIVE-5723 > Project: Hive > Issue Type: Improvement > Components: Build Infrastructure > Reporter: Navis > Priority: Trivial > Attachments: HIVE-5723.1.patch.txt, HIVE-5723.patch, HIVE-5723.patch > > > NO PRECOMMIT TESTS > For easy gathering of required libraries. -- This message was sent by Atlassian JIRA (v6.1#6144)
