Hi,

First off thank you for the review and endorsement. I agree the patch needs 
refactoring, I am waiting for some kind of resolution to HBASE-9477 before 
updating.

Regarding hbase bringing in the hadoop1 dependencies. I think this was probably 
because they used to use a system property to activate the hadoop1/hadoop2 
profiles. After they change this upstream I don't think it will be an issue.
