Sushanth Sowmyan commented on HIVE-5233: ---------------------------------------- Given that the hive hbase handler did not work from HCatalog (till HIVE-4331 goes through and that's partly why I want to make sure that goes through in hive 0.12, because otherwise, we'll be deprecating the ability to use hbase through hcatalog without giving an alternative), users of HCatalog that used HBase need it through this SH. So, in terms of backward compatibility, this has the same draw the org.apache.hcatalog.* backward compatibility requirement has. > move hbase storage handler to org.apache.hcatalog package > --------------------------------------------------------- > > Key: HIVE-5233 > URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HIVE-5233 > Project: Hive > Issue Type: Sub-task > Components: HCatalog > Affects Versions: 0.12.0 > Reporter: Eugene Koifman > Assignee: Eugene Koifman > Fix For: 0.12.0 > > Attachments: 5233.move, 5233.update, HIVE-5233.patch > > > org.apache.hcatalog in hcatalog/storage-handlers/ was erroneously renamed to > org.apache.hive.hcatalog in HIVE-4895. This should be reverted as this > module is deprecated and should continue to exist in org.apache.hcatalog. -- This message is automatically generated by JIRA.
