Hi, Recently I found that surprisingly plus sign, minus sign and parentheses are allowed in Hive variables so hivevar:(a) for example is a Hive variable that has nothing to do with hivevar:a. As a developer of the Hive dialect of the SQL linter SQLFluff I’d like to ask what strings can be the names of Hive variables.
