Currently the [InstanceCache |
https://github.com/apache/hive/blob/master/serde/src/java/org/apache/hadoop/hive/serde2/avro/InstanceCache.java]
class is not thread safe, but it is sometimes used as a static variable, for
instance
[here|https://github.com/apache/hive/blob/master/serde/src/java/org/apache/hadoop/hive/serde2/avro/SchemaToTypeInfo.java#L114].
This will be an issue for HoS, at which scenario it could be accessed by
multiple threads at the same time. We found this sometimes causes NPE:
