Hi all, Some of us are wanting to do a new round of improvements for Cost Based Optimizer. Mainly related to but not limited to : https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HIVE-9132 Since there may be potentially disruptive changes idea is to do them in branch. For example we may depend on calcite snapshots as we want to use new features (e.g. https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CALCITE-594 ) before they are in released version of calcite. So, I have revived cbo branch by merging latest trunk into it. This is just an FYI, so that if you see jiras tagged for cbo branch or cbo branch in your git repo getting updated, you know whats going on.
