Ferdinand Xu commented on HIVE-8900: ------------------------------------ Thank [~brocknoland] for your comments.I saw your comments in quotes from the RB(quote below). "In none testing enviroments getMiniDfs will never be called and this keyprovider will be null. Do we really need to delete this? If so, we need to find a way for this to work with production environments.". In the production environments, the keyprovider will never be initialized since getMiniDfs is never called. To my understand, we should get the keyprovider via the namenode(namespace file system) other than creating a new keyprovider on the hive side. Let me think about a good way to handle it next week. Hi [~spena], do you have any thoughts about it? > Create encryption testing framework > ----------------------------------- > > Key: HIVE-8900 > URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HIVE-8900 > Project: Hive > Issue Type: Sub-task > Reporter: Brock Noland > Assignee: Ferdinand Xu > Attachments: HIVE-8065.1.patch, HIVE-8065.patch > > > As [mentioned by > Alan|https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HIVE-8821?focusedCommentId=14215318&page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel#comment-14215318] > we already have some q-file tests which fit our needs. -- This message was sent by Atlassian JIRA (v6.3.4#6332)
