Ryan Schmitt commented on HTTPCORE-793:
---------------------------------------
I think a more interesting alternative would be figuring out how to provide
better support for custom transport layers. We've already seen people implement
support for named pipes and (before 5.6) Unix domain sockets. My company also
has an internal intra-DC protocol that I know they'd be interested in
integrating with the Apache client.

> HTTP/3 is specified in [https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/rfc9114.] It
> relies on UDP/Quic (the latter not yet natively supported by Java so probably
> requiring a 3rd party library).
> HTTP/3 is meanwhile supported by [Jetty HTTP
> Client|https://jetty.org/docs/jetty/12.1/programming-guide/client/http.html#transport-http3]
> and [JDK HTTP Client|https://inside.java/2025/10/22/http3-support/]
