With all respect, this bug report wants to point out a change of behavior
between versions 4.5.6 and 4.5.7+ that should be addressed somehow.
Furthermore, the way HttpClient performs URI normalization since 4.5.7
definitely creates *non-equivalent* URIs (w/ respect to RFC 3986).
Of course, if you guys don't have any plans to keep up with the time and
conform to RFC 3986 (published 14 years ago) some day, there is nothing left to
be added.
