As long as the minor version is not EOL, we should provide patches. Spring for example set explicit EOLs on minor release lines, we have not done that to my knowledge (https://endoflife.date/grails).
But it is a good question, and we should talk about how we should handle this going forward, and how we should follow the Spring releases now that have soon caught up with them.
