Currently, MySQL CDC is the omni-connector for MySQL, PolarDB, MariaDB, and
several MySQL hosted services.
Among them, PolarDB-X[1] has different underlying implementation, as it is
simulating MySQL binlog protocol essentally. Developing it as a separated
connector could make it easier to introduce new features without affecting
original MySQL connector.
It's not a priority to do though.
