I'd like to ask for your permissions to merge this PR [1]. It's a minor improvement that changes the default behavior when both hybrid shuffle and speculative execution are enabled, plus a few non-behavior-changing code clean-ups. The PR has already passed CI and its impact should be limited, and if not included in this release it will bring breaking changes in future releases.
