java version "1.8.0_102" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_102-b14) Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.102-b14, mixed mode) are you on Mac, if so I have a very simple setup: *0.- (pre step) Install XCode and with this command line tools from App Store* *1.- Install Hombrew:* */usr/bin/ruby -e "$(curl -fsSL * *https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/master/install* <https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/master/install>*)"* 2.- Install Java (latest -> 1.8.0_102, Oracle) *brew cask install java* 3.- Install Maven (latest -> 3.3.9) *brew install maven* 4.- Install Git (latest -> 2.10.0) *brew install git* This works very good on a macOS Sierra clean system. Then you can have additional steps (optional): 5 .- Install Jenv (http://www.jenv.be) *brew install jenv* 6.- Check Java versions *jenv versions* this show a list of Java versions installed on your system. Your default is marked with (*) , and you can switch from one to another Hope this helps.
