Yeah, you're absolutely correct. I feel like there's a better solution here
that I'm missing that would elegantly capture both cases, but I'm not sure.
Even in the global install case /usr/local/bin isn't guaranteed to be the
location of everything. In my case, for instance, "global" means the node
distribution in my home directory.
Additionally, it'd be ideal to replace the shell scripts entirely with node
scripts, as it would lead to fewer compatibility headaches.
