Like Carlos, I've been silently following and appreciating the work you and Alex have been doing on this. The last time I tried, and from posts I've seen here I'm not the only one, getting a full and clean installation of the dev environment was a big hassle. If your joint work ends up making this trivial, I think the community will indeed benefit.
