Actually in the past they have slowed me down, cause if I have an error, which I don't understand, I can be certain that I need to feed google with the english version, so I tried to guess the english one and eventually look it up in the resource-bundles :-)

Yes, we have successfully had volunteers translate installer strings, but the practical difficulty is in getting them to be aware there is a translation needed, especially when we decide we need one late in the release cycle as folks start doing more testing. I'd like to hear from folks like you outside the US: if compiler error messages were all in English, would that slow down your productivity? -Alex
