While we don’t want PMC voters to “not follow procedure”, the goal of the approval script is to make following procedure less time consuming. More senior Apache folks will correct me if I’m wrong here, but I don’t think there is a minimum level of scrutiny required in order to cast a binding vote. You don’t have to labor over every word of each text file like README, NOTICE, etc. We certainly don’t want you to close your eyes and just type “yes” at all the questions in the approval script, but I’d rather have more eyes doing at least some checking of the release than discourage folks from participating at all by making the process seem onerous. But no worries if you don’t want to take the time now. I do hope you will take some time (hopefully less than an hour) when we get around to voting on releasing your code. -Alex
