... and we're already 4 emails in a thread that shouldn't even exist :-( For the people (especially PMCs) not keeping up with the other conversations currently going on, I'll summarize (summarise?) what prompted this VOTE:
Bertrand Delacretaz, one of our former mentors and a Apache Board member, has been kind enough to rejoin this list to try to help sort out the recent unrest. One of his suggestions on improving our process was that we adhere more closely to Apache best practice and make most of our VOTEs "Majority." That caused me to look at our guidelines/bylaws and I notice that we currently default to "Consensus". As the change is minor and there is lots of precedent, I thought that I'd call a VOTE.
