IMO there's no need for a freeze, branching should take care of any issue. I don't think a freeze would of solved any issue we're run into in the past. > 3) A discussion/VOTE is opened at that point and kept open until the release > is voted through. A vote can only be against a single RC / tag (see multiple comments on votes on incubator re match release with what's in version control and discussion around mutable git tags).
