Are you talking about master being default on github? At some point when only Erik and I were working on the Installer, we were working on master. Then a bunch of other projects got added and develop became the default branch. I think our approach is that whenever we make a release of a project, we also update master. Which means that a lot of stuff that Alex added as part of the last Adobe donations are going to be in develop till their first official release.
