I believe so yes, the examples are still useful and not everyone uses or needs 
spark components.

It's missing a large number of assets, and I've was unable to get it to compile 
even after a few hours work, the XML also needs reasonable amount of work to 
get into shape (change URLs for instance) and a lot of features need to be 
removed - user comments, broken links to Adobe articles etc etc. It may be 
easier to move the examples one by one to the Flex 3 version, but if anyone has 
any ideas on how to get it to work please speak up.

No in any easy way that I can see, it's looks like it hard coded to published 
URLs unlike Flex 3/MX version of the component explorer. I also think in some 
cases we are also missing the source as it looks like with only have a 
HTMLified version of the source.
