Thanks for giving it a thorough look. Voting on the installer is interesting in that, while we do package up an sdk-installer-config-4.0.xml in the source package, the one the installer uses by default is deployed on our website, and is different from what we package because it lists the Rcs and may also need some change for some other reason (like the beta 14.0). The version that is on the web site is responsible for many of the issues you have listed here.
I do want to know more about a few things. See comments in-line. Why should we always move to a later/latest version if we don't need some new API from some newer version? Doesn't it make the package available to more folks if we keep it running on older versions? >- Two flash player 14s showing in down down list - this is going to cause >some confusion* This can be changed in the website copy of the -config.xml >- Cache folder doesn't default to previous location so previous cached >files are missing* Need more info on this. You ran the built sources and caching defaulted to on but the folder you had previously chosen was not used? This was for one of the nightly builds? What was used instead? >- Caching is broken for Apache Flex 4.12.1 (SDK or AIR not cached)* I just don't think this is worth the effort, given that I hope we have a 4.13.0 out soon and 4.12.1 installs will drop-off. >- Installer doesn't default to latest version of AIR or FP* This can be changed in the website copy of the -config.xml >- Locale is incorrect - tried to installed china locale but logs say >using locale is en_AU - this may cause confusion* Has this always been the case in prior releases? >- Locale is set to en_US in flex config files when using other locale - >this may also cause confusion I thought this was desired behavior. IIRC there was a whole thread on why the locale in flex-config should not be changed away from en_US. Can you explain? >- Generated SDK contains all locales (see locale directory) but RSLs are >en_us only Are you describing an issue with the 4.13.0 install script? >- Flex version info is incorrect (4.12.0 reported when 4.12.1 selected) >when running compc "Version 4.12.0 build 20140303" looks looks like it >downloaded the wrong version ie 4.12.0 not 4.12.1* Are you certain this is a bug in the installer and not in the 4.12.1 compc? >- When enabling dev build you get "Apache Flex SDK RC1" - no idea what >version that is* Will fix shortly. -Alex
