Let's examine this further.

I can totally understand why you're not excited about your project being 
butchered. It looks like you put a lot of effort into it…

How do you see the project as a whole being useful as a donation? (It looks 
very cool, but I'm trying to understand the use case from the perspective of 
Apache.)
