Hello, I have struggled to get the project to build and to figure out where to get a local developent environment started. I’ve started in the standard location one would start [1]. From there, I’m quickly pointed to [2]. From here I get the impression that I’m to run a local instance of MariaDB, and then run the gradle commands:
./gradlew createDB -PdbName=fineract_tenants ./gradlew createDB -PdbName=fineract_default ./gradlew bootRun however these seem to result in build failures. I’m using java-17 locally on my mac (the amazon corretto model). My gradle --version prints out the following: chtompki@Robs-MacBook-Pro-2 ~ % gradle --version Welcome to Gradle 8.1.1! Here are the highlights of this release: - Stable configuration cache - Experimental Kotlin DSL assignment syntax - Building with Java 20 For more details see https://docs.gradle.org/8.1.1/release-notes.html ------------------------------------------------------------ Gradle 8.1.1 ------------------------------------------------------------ Build time: 2023-04-21 12:31:26 UTC Revision: 1cf537a851c635c364a4214885f8b9798051175b Kotlin: 1.8.10 Groovy: 3.0.15 Ant: Apache Ant(TM) version 1.10.11 compiled on July 10 2021 JVM: 17.0.7 (Amazon.com Inc. 17.0.7+7-LTS) OS: Mac OS X 13.4 aarch64 The difficulty to get started here is a bit frustrating - it’s quite hard to find the ins and outs of the project and get going. I am really hoping to spend a bit of my time polishing this up and the surrounding documentation (where’s that stored? the wiki?). Streamlining this process will allow us to get a larger number of contributors which is a priority, in my opinion. Thoughts, questions, concerns?
