The handlers for sched_quanta, credit_quanta, min_burst and deq_burst each applied a range and stored the result, and returned -1 without logging, so a value out of range was rejected with nothing to say what the range was.
Use rte_kvargs_handle_urange(), which reports it. The per key SW_LOG_ERR is kept since it names the device, which kvargs cannot.
