Back when researching MSI + uio_pci_generic, I found this: http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/linux/kernel/1738200 I'm not sure I completely follow the logic of the argument there, but seems like the maintainer's(?) mind of uio_pci_generic never supporting MSI is quite made up.
