I think you should upgrade your kernel. Vanilla Linux versions < 2.6.34 are known to be buggy about huge pages. Huge pages support is important for DPDK and it could be the cause of your ixgbe problem. Note that I don't know if this Debian kernel has backported patches to fix hugepages support. -- Thomas
