Besides connecting pipes through remote services, there is no way to combine UIMAv2 and UIMAv3. Work on UIMAv2 has fully stopped. UIMAv2 is very likely not going to get any more updates and bug fixes. A very last uimaFIT 2.6.0 might still make it, but that's likely it. I would strongly recommend that you upgrade to v3 as soon as possible. If you have and trouble doing so, please let me know. The easiest way is via the Apache UIMA users mailing list.
