Hi Patrick,

Are you running on a 64 bit machine? Ctakes requires 3 GB to run the standard
clinical pipeline, and for the system to address that much memory it needs 64
bits. You should also make certain that you are running 64 bit Java.

Subject: Help with CTakes Installation

I am new to cTakes. During installation when I ran bin\runctakesCVD.bat, I get
the following error in the Command Prompt:

Error occurred during initialization of UM Could not reserve enough space for
3145728KB object heap.
C:\apache-ctakes-3.2.2\bin is the location of my cTAKES_HOME directory

Please help me resolve this issue.

Thanks
