Hi Vicky, Ctakes is single-threaded, so only one core is necessary. I recommend at least 4GB hardware ram to maximize speed of the runs. As Andy stated you can run some smaller ctakes pipelines (such as "CuisOnly") on a 32 bit machine with 2GB hardware ram, but most PCs sold in the last 10 years should fit the recommended specs and run ctakes out-of-box.
