Hey Martina, what areas are you most interested in? Code or documentation? What is your experience with JS software, besides writing Cordova apps?
If you are looking for a way to contribute with comparatively little setup: We have a big backlog of Pull Requests for core plugins. Those usually need understanding the problem, testing the solution/PR, possibly communicating with the creator of the PR (understanding the solution, getting them to add documentation or update the code), and finally leaving a GitHub review if this should be merged or not (with documentation on how and what you tested).
