The users I've been hearing from that want Froyo also want iOS 4.3 and in some cases 4.2. What hit me is that even if we do keep Froyo in Cordova, it's not going to solve the same problem for iOS. Support in Cordova for iOS 4.x is already gone and not coming back. So at the end of the day, users are still going to have to use 2 different versions of Cordova when targeting these older iOS versions. Keeping Froyo in Cordova isn't enough to make that go away.
tl;dr: I'm withdrawing the request to keep Froyo. -- Marcel Kinard
