Hello there! My name is CJ Miller and I'm the founder of "Conifer FLOSSTech and LUG" (Conifer Free / Libre Open Source Software and Technology and Linux User Group). We meet monthly at the Conifer Library to discuss the state of technology, how to evangelize Linux and other open-source software, work on community projects and advocacy, and troubleshoot personal projects. We've covered topics such as the Fediverse and ActivityPub, the wider reaction to corporate-controlled social media and technology, Meshtastic/MeshCore communications, Amateur Radio/GNURadio, and beginner-friendly as well as veteran-level Linux distributions and HomeLabs. This month's meeting marked our half year anniversary!
I'm writing to see if your organization has any outreach programs we can take advantage of? It would be great if we could find someone knowledgeable about Apache's resources to give a 30-45 minute presentation on how Apache interfaces with the Open Source world and show local hobbyists how to take advantage of those resources. Our meetings are scheduled for the last Monday of every month, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Conifer Library. I'm likely looking to schedule this for autumn, August or later. Please let me know if we can work together, and how to proceed. Thanks in advance! Here's our OpenMeet page: https://platform.openmeet.net/groups/conifer-fosstech-and-lug-tkueen -- best, cj
