Hello Aditya, thank you for answering.
Yes, these guidelines still apply. Refer email thread[1] for reference mail.
Regarding the first point, as I mentioned in my first email, I haven't
found any email from other ALCs on the topic in the last 2 years (the
thread you referenced is from 2023); that is why I asked if the
guideline is still valid, and it is not clear to me yet.
I think a better idea would be to have it under ASF. Do you have any
specific requirements for setting up an organization?
About the second point, we do not have any specific requirements for
setting up an organization. I asked that because the Beijing ALC has one
[1], and I was wondering if it should be done in the same way. Having it
under the ASF would indeed make more sense.
Refer email thread[2], there were some initial efforts, but the
website development is still pending. New contributions are most
welcomed :) I think we could definitely use ALC logos.
I would be glad to help =)
I have not found any new interaction since 2021 regarding this topic,
nor a project under the ASF organization on GitHub. Is it being handled
anywhere else?
Therefore, I'm reaching out to you to check if (a) there
are any pendencies for the ALC Florianópolis establishment (or
everything is fine and it was just not announced officially); and (b)
clear some doubts.
Regarding this, do you have any information?
Best regards,
Daniel Salvador (gutoveronezi)

Hello Daniel,
See inline
1. On the "Guidelines to organise ALC Event" Confluence page [1], the
third item says to "Send a mail to ComDev PMC (on
[email protected]) sharing the details of events and wait for
their approval"; however, I checked the mailing list and haven't found
any email from other ALCs on the topic in the last 2 years [2]. Thus,
I'm wondering if these guidelines are still valid.
Yes, these guidelines still apply. Refer email thread[1] for reference mail.
2. Can we create a GitHub organization for the ALC? I saw that the ALC
Beijing has one, but I was in doubt whether this was an exception or
if any ALC chapter can create one.

3. What are the criteria for creating a website for the ALC and using
the ASF and ALC logos?

4. What means can we use to publicize the events? On the "Code of
Conduct" session [3], it says that press releases are not allowed;
thus, I wanted to check what else is not allowed, and, furthermore,
what is allowed.
You could post it on social media post approval. If you have any
sponsors, must be framed as supporting the specific ALC event, not ASF

Hello guys,
On August 15, 2025, Swapnil sent us (the ALC Florianópolis members) a
private email informing us that the ALC Florianópolis establishment
had been approved, and the Confluence pages would be created. Unlike
the other ALCs, this confirmation was not sent to [email protected], nor was
an official announcement made. On November 27, 2025, the pages were
created, and we received access to them. Since then, we have been
trying to reach Swapnil to clear up some doubts about the next steps
and guidelines available in Confluence, but we haven't received any
updates yet. Therefore, I'm reaching out to you to check if (a) there
