Dear Rich,
Thank you for initiating this. I would be happy to assist you with it.
Here are some details about our ComDev activities over the past few years.

Over the past few years, the ComDev community
has primarily focused on several key activities. You’re already
familiar with many of these
initiatives and have been a great supporter. Still, I’m sharing a
summary for easy reference,
along with brief descriptions to help those who may not be fully aware.

# 1) Working Groups
Working Groups are informal teams focused on specific tasks or topics.
Each group operates independently
with a defined mission and reports back to the PMC when there are
updates to share with the ASF Membership.
More details: https://community.apache.org/workinggroups/

# 2) Apache Local Community (ALC)
ALC is an initiative to grow the presence and impact of ASF projects
in local communities worldwide.
ALC Chapters are formed by volunteers—including ASF contributors,
committers, and members—
and focus on regional outreach, community building, and promoting open source.
More details: https://s.apache.org/alc

# 3) Google Summer of Code 2024
ComDev ensures the successful participation of ASF in GSoC by
providing mentorship and
guidance to all mentees involved in the program.
More details: https://community.apache.org/gsoc/

# 4) Participation and Representation at Open Source Events
ComDev volunteers actively participate in global open source events,
representing the ASF through booth setups, presentations, and
community engagement. Notable events include FOSDEM, FOSS Backstage,
Open Source India, and others that offer valuable networking and
collaboration opportunities.

# 5) Community Over Code – Community Track
ComDev contributes to the planning and execution of the Community
Track at Community Over Code,
curating diverse sessions that promote community engagement and open
collaboration.

# 6) Other Activities
-- Maintaining the ComDev website
-- Responding to queries from the broader ASF community
-- Supporting contributors and newcomers

# 7) Additional Contributions
These are just the items that come to mind at the moment. It’s
possible I’ve missed a few—like the tools managed by ComDev.

If anyone thinks of other important contributions we make as ComDev,
please feel free to add them.

Best Regards,
Swapnil M Mane
