Based on what happened yesterday (I updated the Google Calendar, and 20-30 minutes later the site updated) I would encourage people NOT to directly edit calendar.json, but, rather, to just be patient. Update the Google Calendar (need access? Please ask me) and then wait for the site to update. There's a script - getcalendar.sh - which when run manually produces the new calendar.json.
