Hello Brian, We have been recognized as the Supporting Partner by the Open Source India[1] team.
We plan to have a booth focused on the following points of engagement: 1. Spreading Awareness about the ASF and the Apache Way, our collaborative and meritocratic approach to open-source development. - Introduce visitors to the ASF, its mission, and the values behind "The Apache Way"—such as community over code, open collaboration, and meritocratic contributions. 2. Engage with developers and students, encouraging them to contribute to the vibrant Apache ecosystem. - Highlight how developers and students can get involved with ASF through contributions to existing projects, joining mailing lists, or participating in incubation (bringing their projects under ASF as well as joining the growing communities). - Explain how ASF provides mentorship and guidance for contributors, making it accessible to individuals new to open-source. - Highlight open-source internship opportunities like Google Summer of Code (GSoC) and Outreachy, which help students get involved with Apache projects. - Provide specific advice for students on how they can take their first steps in contributing to open-source projects and communities. 3. Connect with existing Apache contributors, fostering collaboration and community building. - Foster connections among current Apache contributors. - Talk about Apache Local Communities (ALC) and how existing contributors can participate in local initiatives. We do have some cool swags to share with the visitors too.
