1) Aliases are done by creating a small page that includes an HTML refresh. I think these are rather less efficient. Also browsers may not cache them. 2) There is no way of knowing where the original links are being used, and one cannot assume that they will be updated, so in general aliases/redirects are needed forever. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
