The list of projects are mentioned over here: https://projects.apache.org/projects.html In general you can identify a project which interests you, go through its documentation/website, read, then pick some newbie Jiras and if you need any help getting started with your recogonised project, can subscribe to that Project’s mailing list and ask for it over there.
