Hi All

I have some additional info from the FOSDEM organisers and have updated the wiki page.

https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/COMDEV/FOSDEM+2021 <https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/COMDEV/FOSDEM+2021>

We need to start working on pulling the booth website together with the content to be displayed.

My suggestion for the booth objectives are:

1. Attracting visitors (this is a key part of having a booth, getting people to come and talk to us!)
2. Promote the  ASF and its Projects by:
       - Running a mini track with demos or short presentations showcasing specific projects
       - Having project experts available to chat and answer questions
       - Having people available to answer questions about the ASF
3. Run video content that gives basic information about the ASF and what we do

I think the most important thing is having real people available to talk to. So if you would like to spend time on the booth talking about and answering questions about your projects then please add your details to the wiki page along with your project. We can then promote the date and time of the session as part of our booth content to attract people.

The booths open at least an hour before any of the FOSDEM talks so we do have an opportunity to catch people at the beginning of their day.

Remember that there will be a lot of devrooms running throughout the weekend so if we do decide to run a mini track then it needs to be interesting enough that people will want to come. The standard talk length for FOSDEM is 30 minutes so I'd like to suggest that our booth talks be shorter maybe 10 or 15 minutes with a chance for attendees to talk to the presenters and ask questions.

If you don't want to present but simply want to be around to talk then that's OK too. The key thing we need to understand is which projects will be represented during the event so we can tailor our content to fit.

So what needs to happen now?
The most important task now is that we need to build our virtual booth site, test it and then send the links to the FOSDEM team before FOSDEM starts on 6th February!

As a first step we need to create a couple of github repos based on the FOSDEM stands content. More instructions and details https://github.com/FOSDEM/stands-website/blob/master/README.md <https://github.com/FOSDEM/stands-website/blob/master/README.md>

Any volunteers willing to help with getting this started?

Thanks
Sharan
