I will try to get this done this week.

I have no opinions on which site-builder I want to use. From where I sit, there are no practical differences. What are the majority of our sites going with? (Assuming that the tools are listed in order of preference, I guess I'll pick Pelican.)

Hi:

The site is like a well-rigged ship that just sails on and on without its
crew having to lift a finger...until the CMS falls over.

Two first steps you can take concurrently: 1) open a Jira ticket for INFRA
with component "CMS" indicating a willingness to migrate. 2) Decide which
site-builder you want to use. The links I provided outline some options in
that area.

The events site is "mine", in the sense that it's under VP Conferences,
mostly. It is currently managed under the CMS, but I don't love the CMS
and am ready to migrate.

It looks like Shane and I are the only people to have touched the
content in almost 2 years. And there have been almost no changes this
year - mostly I manage the content in Google Calendar.

So ... what's next steps?

Hi:

I am part of the Infrastructure team, and am writing to ask whether
comdev
is still using the Apache CMS for the Events website. As you know, the
CMS
is reaching end-of-life, and we need projects to move their websites
onto a
different option within the next few weeks.

There are several alternatives available, including those listed on this
page [1] on managing project websites. Infra is assembling a Wiki page
[2]
on migrating a website from the CMS, and is looking forward to helping
projects with this transition.

Please let me know whether the events site is still on the Apache CMS
and,
if so, who will be the point-of-contact with Infra for the migration.

Thank you!
